Pulpit Rock - Late Afternoon

This was a day out to the seaside resort of Weymouth with my elderly mother for a walk down memory lane, with her having visited the town many many years ago.

I remembered that Portland Bill was not too far away so, despite a quite a heavy coastal mist and high level cloud really flattening the light, I could not pass up the opportunity to go along and get some images.

This image was taken late afternoon (from the "non-traditional side"!), before any colour had started to appear in the sky before sunset. The flat light saps much of the colour out of the scene, but adds to the stark wild look of the rocky coast. In reality, the wild coast has a nice cafe about 150m from where I was located, and a car park 50m beyond that!

A good day out, and pleased about the chance to photograph this iconic location - less so with the light. Maybe better luck next time.
