[DC] Deceiving Colors
I've struggled to discern whether Batman has black or dark blue costume details in Rebirth. The original concept art at the very beginning of Rebirth looks MUCH more blue than black, and his many comic appearances since seem to alternate his apparent coloration. You might say, well then just take a look at official physical merchandise, but even that differs! The upcoming DC Essentials 6.75' action figure line has him in dark blue (and the fig's designed by Jason Fabok), but it's predescessor toyline of DC Icons had him in black. My personal preference for Bat's color is a very dark blue, as I think it's a nice contrast from his N52 costume and a good callback to his Post-Crisis classic costume.
I was browsing for New 52 back issues at my local CBS and saw a really nifty knockoff Blackest Night Batman whose design was unfortunately lifted from a customizer who I can't quite name off the top of my head. BrothersFigure maybe? Anyway, I was really surprised to see that the fig had dark blue/dark bley dual-molded legs! When I got home, I spent literally 45 minutes scrubbing off the leg printing with a shredded pencil eraser to see if it would do the trick for my preferred Rebirth Batman. I decided to pair it with a Sheng Yuan N52 Batman torso to get that nice Bat-symbol outline, for added accuracy. What do you think?
