Ex MILW
HLCX GP40-2 Nº4220 (rebuilt and upgraded to dash 2 specs) is a former Milwaukee Road GP40 at heart. Built for the MILW as their 2036 in 1967, the unit went on through the ranks of SOO LINE and into CP where it was rebuilt and during so, losing it's deactivated dynamic brakes. The unit joined the Helm Lease fleet during mid 2013 and has been on lease to CSXT where it's currently seen while assigned to local job M729 in Bessemer, Al. The second unit, ATN SD40 7371 (ex SP) is seen second out (tagged DIT) and ready for shipment back to the ATN in Birmingham after having contract work performed at Birmingham Rail & Locomotive.
