Tartakovsky's Clone Wars
After years & years (alright it’s only been a yearish) I’ve finally convinced myself Star Warts is fun to do. This time around, the window of opportunity was slim, one week to be exact, and I think the results speak for themselves.
I’ve wanted to try few things out for some time now such as the sky backdrop, creating custom characters like Durge and working more on vehicles as well as posing minifigure. Posing in general is fun to do because the more dynamic the pose, the more interest the eye will draw to the scene. Vehicles have not entirely been my forte, and there is still work to be done, but for what they are, they’re meant to be similar to those speeders we see in the show, while being built so that others can get an idea how to make them for their collection.
Durge was an interesting build as once again, this needed to be completed in a relatively short timeframe. All told, with the help of some friends, we were able to complete the bounty hunter for this layout.
Finally the backdrop. This not only needed to look good from the front, but also the back towards the inner section of convention displays (yes I’m that picky for my borders and having it all look sleek). Since my last sky background, this one has been majorly improved, with parts of the horizon built into the bottom, the skyline for the city far off and then the clouds and explosion smoke that pops out for more depth. All told the colors work well to tell the story of this intense battlefield.
Thank you to my friends Elias & Emil for helping with the build in various aspects and Dominic for helping in Stud.io designing the Durge.
