Battle of Dagorlad

Year 3434 of the Second Age - The Battle of Dagorlad

After The Dark Lord Sauron launched an assault on Gondor in 3429 to lay waste to his enemies the Dunedain, Elendil, Gil-Galad and the dwarves of Durin's Folk formed the Last Alliance of Men and Elves in response. The great army of the free people's of Middle-Earth met at Amon Sul, and marched across the Misty Mountains, past Lothlorien and Greenwood and towards the Black Gate. Here they were joined by Anarion, the youngest son of Elendil, and his forces, who had for many years been defending Osgiliath and Gondor from the armies of Mordor, while Elendil and Gil-Galad laid the plans for the assault. In the year 3434, the armies of the Last Alliance and Sauron's forces fought by the great open plan between the Dead marshes and Cirith Gorgor. After a raging battle that lasted for months, the Last Alliance pushed the forces of Mordor back, and was able to enter the land themselves. Here they established camps, and began the Siege of Barad Dur. This battle lasted seven years, and took a heavy toll on the Last Alliance killing both Anarion, Elendil and Gil-Galad. The War of the Last Alliance and Sauron ended when Isildur cut the ring off Sauron's hand with the hilt-shard of his sword, Narsil.

Here is the addition from yours truly to the Second Age Collaboration organized by Olav. I'm going to be honest about a few things. This build although it might not look like it pushed me to the limit in terms of building it. I've been busy with other projects and life that when it came time to building this, I just went for it. I had planned on how I wanted to work on the build and got the design for the most part ready. Building it was the challenge as I needed to do it in a short period of time. The end result came out perfect and fits well in my opinion with the amazing collaboration.

This was the final episode of our collab, so thanks to everyone who has followed our collab and given it attention. A special thanks to all the builders themselves for creating such a great collab, as a follow up to Third Age. Be sure to give them a round of applause and follow all of them. We would also like to sincerely thank Blaine's World for sponsoring our collaboration!
