Pine marten - unexpected catch.

One of the Pine Martens at the bird nuts. Since mid summer and the kits being weaned, they have been very nocturnal. I put a hen's egg out every night but never see them take it, and haven’t been waiting up with the patio lights on for hours and hours.

This Marten came in last night, before the egg was out, and so was disappointed, a few nuts wrestled from the feeders only. I had one outside light on intending to let the dog out just before we were all beddit.

So minus the 4 patio lights, for which to switch on, I need to go upstairs, I grabbed the medium lens and beamed flash and took a short series through the sun room double glazing glass, as a record. It tolerated 8 images before it ambled off.

I put the egg out, and by the morning it was gone. The dog was very restless yesterday evening for a long period, normally a sign that they are around.
