This image shows me sitting in a corner with every-day clothes and clown make-up. The picture is meant to represent how I use humor to mask my insecurities. I am a wildly insecure person with both my appearance and my personality and antics. While I may seem to ‘clown around,’ on the inside I worry about every move that I make and how others will perceive it. Even in the process of taking the picture, I had trouble keeping a strait face because I kept fooling around to avoid showing any vulnerability. I chose to take the photograph with natural light and without any major editing to show that this is a normal part of my life. The corner seemed like the natural place to take the picture because corners are associated with retreat and hiding. This picture truly represents a constant personal struggle of mine.
