The Trees
This week in SSC: Trees!
Wow, this was a real challenge for me this week. My husband and I went on a hike and discovered this really great tree but when I viewed my pics on the computer when I got home they didn't look so good so we went back and tried again. Now I have 3 photos to show you! :D
This Douglas Fir tree is at least 500 years old. It's unusual to see a tree this size around here. Sadly they've all been logged off. I had my husband play "Tree Hugger" for me to give you an idea of its size (photo below.) At one point in its life it looks like it was struck by lightning. There is a scar running up the length of the tree (photo below.) It is really a magnificent tree. I've grown quite fond of it this week and wish I could bring it home (intact.) :-)
And for Sight and Sound
Rush from their album "Hemispheres" (1978)
