Medway 1907 - Caldas de Moledo (Portugal)
Der bekannte Güterzug im Dourotal im Norden Portugals wird mittlerweile recht häufig mit den wuchtigen 1900 von Medway bespannt. Auch im Frühjahr 23' bot sich uns zwei mal die Gelegenheit, die lautstarken Lokomotiven im Dourotal zu erleben. Am Motiv in der Nähe vom Haltepunkt Caldas de Moledo verläuft die Strecke oberhalb des Douro und der Straße N108 auf einer schicken Stützmauer. Die Lok kündigte sich - wie wir das von der Baureihe 1900 kennen - bereits einige Minuten vor der Durchfahrt lautstark an, bevor die 1907 "Catarina" mit dem "Cimento" eindrucksvoll an uns vorbeizog. In wenigen Kilometern wird der Zug sein Ziel, den Bahnhof von Godim, erreichen.
The famous cargo train in the douro-valley in the north of Portugal is recently often hauled by a class 1900 from Medway. In spring 23' we also had the opportunity to experience this loud locomotives in the douro-valley. Near the station of Caldas de moledo the line runs above the Douro and the street N108 on a retaining wall. Already some minutes before passing our spot, the locomotive announced itself with loud engine sounds, then the 1907 "Catarina" passes us with the so called "Cimento". In some kilometers the train will reach it's final destination, the station of Godim.
