Annik comparison
I am fascinated by comparisons and identifying similarities and differences between dolls. Annik Pop of Color on the right in this comparison and the new Annik 'The Awakening' are SO different they almost look like two different sculpts. I am personally really pleased by this because I don't like to have dolls that look too similar in my collection. One small detail I have noticed, thanks to my friend Bran Beckman’s eagle eye, is that Pop of Color has a very different lip screening to Awakening. Her upper lip is not filled in right to the edge of the sculpt but sits below it while Awakening has a fuller upper lip reaching or even going beyond the sculpt line. Awakening's head had to be made from softer vinyl to enable the braids to be rooted and this seems to have softened the contours of her face while POP's contours are more angular. Again, I really love these differences. They definitely look like sisters to me rather than twins. So happy to have them both!
