Carilloneur playing the Carillon at Kirk of St Nicholas (Mither Kirk) Aberdeen.

The Carilloneur plays daily from mid-June to mid-September, a half hour before the church service on Sundays, and twice a week at other times. The Carillon in the Kirk of St Nicholas, Aberdeen, Scotland is the largest (48 bells) of four carillons in Scotland. It is the heaviest carillon the UK weighing 25 tons and the bourdon bell weight 4 1/2 ton. The carillon found a place in the Guinness Book of Records in 1994 as the largest in Great Britain. Its largest bell weighs 4.6 tonnes and is the only one that can (by motor) be swung. It was inaugurated on 31st October 1952. The tower, rebuilt after a fire of 1874, is made of Aberdeen granite.
