Rough-legged Hawk
Not the sharpest of images, but a nice documentation shot of this beautifully-marked Rough-leg. Interestingly, I've seen only one of this species in my many years of birding (granted, not prime RLHA territory) and never gotten a good photo. Last weekend, while exploring Lincoln County and other areas along the Mississippi River north of St Louis, my friends and I spotted something around 10 individuals, including a gorgeous dark phase. It's quite the irruption year...
