Swainson's Warbler (2)
Last year I drove several hours to an area in southernmost Missouri where they breed but failed to come away with a photo, and now one has turned up half an hour from my home. This is the first reported occurrence in the St Louis Area since 1977, and he appears to be sticking around- there are reports that there may be more than one bird. The photo is not the best quality due to poor exposure, but some post-processing with Topaz made the best of what I got. An exciting find-- with the warming temperatures perhaps they will return next year. Lost Valley Trail in Weldon Spring, Missouri
