Amalienbad
Indoor swimming pool at Reumannplatz in Favoriten, the 10th district of Vienna. It was built 1923-26 and was named after the social-democratic city councillor Amalie Pölzer, a former seamstress who had been, from 1919 until her death in 1924, the first woman from the workers district Favoriten to be a member of the city council.
"The Amalienbad, with its Art Nouveau and Art Deco elements, is one of the prettiest of Vienna's indoor pools. The pool is situated in the heart of Vienna's largest workers' district and is a magnificent example of the construction activities of "Red Vienna" in the 1920's." www.wien.info/en/livable-vienna/sports/pools-wellness-355458
