Since the Middle Ages, many towns in German-speaking countries have had a "Judengasse" (literally "Jewish Lane") where the Jewish population lived and worked. Here is the one in Vienna. Today it is located in the middle of the nightlife quarter known as the Bermuda Triangle in Vienna's 1st district.
On November 2, 2020, an Islamist terrorist raged here: he shot four people dead and injured 23 others before being shot dead by the police.
