Gothic Fresco (Passion Cycle, c. 1500)

Detail of the Goldsmiths Chapel (Goldschmiedekapelle) in the Lutheran Protestant Church of St. Anna in Augsburg

The Goldsmiths' Chapel was built in 1420. It was used for a long time as a place of worship for the goldsmiths' guild, hence its name. After St. Anne's church had become Protestant, it stayed catholic till 1889 and was separated from the Protestant main church by a wall. Only since then it has been a part of St. Anne's church again.

The chapel was restored from 2013-2016.
