Am Spitz
Am Spitz ist ein Platz im 21. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Floridsdorf. Der Platz ist nach der Gabelung von Prager (links) und Brünner Straße (rechts) benannt. Ganz links sieht man die ehemalige Zentralsparkasse Floridsdorf, rechts das Bezirksamt. Beide Gebäude stehen unter Denkmalschutz.
In Floridsdorf, Vienna's 21st district. On the right, the district's office building, which, when it was built in 1901 to 1903, was intended to be the town hall. Floridsdorf was still an independent town then and supposed to become, after Vienna's withdrawal, the capital of Lower Austria, which needed such a representative town-hall. But a very short time after, in 1905, Floridsdorf was annexed by Vienna and became its 21st district.
