The core of yesterday's demonstration against Turkish fascism, patriarchy and the war in Kurdistan were women: Kurdish feminists and others. Male sympathizers followed at the end of the march.
A year earlier, in Favoriten, a rally of these same women had been attacked by a horde of young male Turkish fascists. Days of violent confrontations followed, which could only be ended by a massive police contingent.
This demonstration was accompanied by a huge police force and there were no significant incidents.
