The longer and deeper a whale dives the more air it takes in, and these whales were feeding in about 500 feet of water, staying down for up to 10 minutes when they sounded, so when they first resurfaced and blew it was quite impressive. The trick was to catch the action, as they could resurface anywhere, and if you were lucky they would be in position to have the sun really light up the spray.
