Hunting lesson #1

Three killer whales had passed us in Quatsino Narrows, two adults and a juvenile.They had gone some distance past us when we saw them return suddenly, followed by quite a commotion. They were apparently attacking something, but from the distance we were away you couldn't tell what it was. Only when zooming into shots taken with long lenses could we see what it was - in the right of this frame you can just see the head of a seal, and what we witnessed was a remarkable display of the adult transient whales teaching the young one how to hunt . . .
