Into The Abyss
Not quite the abyss, but the Canadian Pacific's Watertown Sub is severed here in the heart of the flooded Reeseville Marsh back in June of 2008, when historic storms dumped more than enough rain on a nearly daily basis. In the distance, you can see how high the water is over the rails, by the milepost 138 way down there barely sticking out of the water. This view is looking southeast from the Bobolink Road bridge. In the days when The Milwaukee Road owned the line, when the marsh would flood, they would run traffic over the Northern Division between North Milwaukee and Portage.
