Those Lonely Weekends
It's June 1967 at The Milwaukee Road's Northern Division terminal in Horicon, Wisconsin. The power is tucked away inside the engine-house for the weekend while the 1939 home built rib-side caboose 01856 rests outside, waiting for the early Monday morning call to duty. The Milwaukee shop built caboose would meet the scrappers torch in 1982. The engine-house still stands here, albeit completely revamped by the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad and surrounded by a locomotive shop, car-shop and paint shop.
