Torrential Downpour on the Hill

The clock is about 30 minutes from striking midnight, when suddenly the sky lights up with a flash of lightning no more than a kilometer away. The silence is broken out by the sound of torrential rain as it falls to the ground from a passing storm. The darkness reveals a little light, as CPKC train no. 400 gradually illuminates the rain while climbing the 2.2% grade out of Field at a staggering 2 mph. Staying in touch, CPKC train No. 400 contacts train No. 300 about their speed as they both slowly ascend the Big Hill.
