30 Mile Descent
Well into the 30 mile long, 2.2% grade from Kelly Lake to Lillooet. Rocky Mountaineer's Rainforest to Gold Rush train slowly navigates one of many S curves south of Glen Fraser. On the point is veteran GP40-2W No. 8013, one of five former CN GP40s on RMRs roster. Sadly, this is now the only train that traverses this part of the line from April to October. With no traffic being generated from Squamish to Exeter, one can only hope it will see freight traffic again someday.
