All The Precious Things
Mr & Mrs Jackdaw [Corvus monedula]
The female is a little larger than the male (I believe) but it’s still very difficult to tell which is which. These guys mate for life which is a lovely idea…Maybe this is just a romantic notion and, possibly, they get sick of the sight of each other after a wee while. Well, since they’re genetically pre-programmed to stick together, unlucky for some!
However, I prefer to think of them as eternally linked and loving it.
Here, they were hanging around on my friends’ old chimney pots, about two miles down the hill from my house. I love the blue-black colouring and their light-bright eyes.
