Lincolnshire RoadCar East Lancs Vyking 907
This is the first of hopefully many pieces I plan to put out in future. After making my StreetDeck net, I realised quite quickly that I could do much better, and this is the culmination of my efforts, the East Lancs Vyking.
FX53 TXA was new in 2003 to Lincolnshire RoadCar as their 907 for use on service 3 between Grimsby and Grimsby, which is now the 53. It arrived painted in their "Making the Connection" livery with Interconnect branding. Following the sale to Stagecoach, 907 was renumbered as 16907. In 2009, 16907 was repainted in the new purple and gold Interconnect livery.
In 2014, 16907 was repainted again, this time into the company's then-standard "Beachball" livery. From 2016-2017, it was based at Lincoln, transferring in 2017 to Skegness where it would remain until 2020. In 2020, it was transferred yet again to Scunthorpe where it would live out its twilight years until 2022.
In 2022, 16907 was donated to the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft, who were eager to run a low-floor shuttle service on their running days, the lack of a pantograph or trolleypole not being a huge issue to them. In 2023, it was taken to the South Yorkshire Transport Trust in Rotherham who repainted it back into its original Lincolnshire RoadCar livery.
Now back as 907, the vehicle carries an advertisement for the Trolleybus Museum on its rear and can be seen operating shuttle services to Doncaster on museum running days, but also appears at events of the SYTT.
My work is not open for reposting or editing.
