Agnigarh is a beauty hillock, which is located at Tezpur in the state of Assam. The word Agnigarh means 'residence amidst fire'. As per Hindu mythology, this fortress was built by a powerful demon named Bansura to keep his daughter Usha in isolation so that she could not meet her beloved Aniruddha. The fortress was surrounded by fire on all sides so that nobody could go out of the building without permission. It is adorned by beautiful sculptures that depict the mythological scenes. It is one of the most well-known tourists spot in Assam.
