Complete silence.

One of my foundest memories of my Dad was literally a short ride from our house on 6th street in Emporium, PA up to North Creek in Cameron County. 4:30 am in the morning, my very first day of buck season. We were in total awe of our surroundings; heavy snow weighing down the pine branches, the landscape illuminated as if it was broad day light.

It was complete silence, nothing had to be said. We didn’t get a deer that day, but it really didn’t matter. In that very moment we simply had each other.

There is no possible way I could ever get lost in these beautiful mountains. He taught me so much about this area, even if he didn’t think I was ever listening to him, -ha.

Today I went for a ride in his memory; it was so beautiful. Just like that morning, just me and him in complete silence.
