VISTA Training Day #4

Service Learning Project #2 at Buford Elementary School’s Community Garden: We helped former AmeriCorps VISTA/SJLI's Food Production Manager, Christina Perez, on a garden beautification project. She taught us about the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program and what a positive impact it has in providing food security for several families of Inglewood and the surrounding communities. We learned that SJLI supports several community gardens and Christina does most of the work all on her own so she was very grateful to have our helping hands and is very appreciative of the VISTA program.
