With 4700 miles and 77 hours of driving time over the course of our trip,

we all agreed the most difficult drive was from the Grand Canyon to Denver, Colorado.

None of us can quite figure out what it was just so terrible, but we have chalked it up to none of us being able to get good sleep on the car ride.

We left the Grand Canyon around 2000, stopping for snack & fuel at 2100. Halle & I took over driving to allow the boys time to sleep, though they decided to stay awake until we hit a McDonald's (who happened to forget Halle's McNuggets, thanks for nothing, guys) and drove until 02.

The drive was erie, with no lights on the road and no cities for miles, Halle & I drove in pitch black for hours, talking about our trip, our marriages, and whatever else girls talk about at midnight. We pulled off briefly to reach the 4-corners, and then continued our way to Colorado, driving until we couldn't keep our eyes open.

We stopped in Denver for a few hours to visit my sister, her husband, and their kids, then hit the road for Boulder, where Mike & Halle shared good memories from their days of meeting in YWAM.
