Principles of Art and Design

Value: (Top left corner) The light reflecting off the water illuminates the seal and contrasts the dark wood of the wharf, creating depth in the photo.

Form: (Middle far left side) The Stagnaro sign pops with its 3D shape against the background that looks more two dimensional.

Shape: (Bottom left corner) The rides are given shape by the sun hitting them and defining their outlines against the clear blue sky. The ferris wheels are complex with round parts and geometric lines. Tidal Wave's outline is angular and sharp.

Space: (Bottom middle) Agnès's figure-- the positive space--is emphasized by the blank blue wall behind her.

Line: (Bottom right corner) The trestle itself has lines moving away from the camera and criss crossing along its top. The railroad tracks have lines leading towards the trestle and the pipes on the side do the same. The fence located on the left also has many lines crossing in 'x' formations.

Color: (Top right corner) The vibrant red mustang pops and captures the eye's attention since it contrasts the less colorful and older looking building in the background.

Texture: (Middle) Scout's fur appears soft, his nose moist, and his tongue looks dried out.
