Road Trips
Hi Everyone, I can not believe it is practically mid October already, where has 2019 gone. I was thinking about that this morning when I stepped outside to find the cold greeting me with a brisk breeze, much better than coffee to wake you up, is the shock of cold wind blowing up the short skirt you are wearing, lol, After running back inside grabbing my coat, driving into the office, my thoughts came to the Summer road trips I use to take with my family as a child, my Father would load us kids in the van and drive us down through the hills of Kentucky and eventually the swamps of Florida after a long million hour drive finally reaching the gold coast where we had relatives to visit. What stood out was those times my Father would stop at those small creepy towns in Tennessee and Georgia for gas and the people that were there would stare at us as we kids would stare back as we dashed for the smelly bathrooms. For kids growing up in the Chicago area it was being on another planet sometimes, seeing the barking dog next to the door to the gas station as I clung to my Mother's arm for protection. looking back I can see how silly we all were and how small our worlds can be as a child, the people I am certain were very nice as my father and mother always had smiles on their faces and talked cheerfully with people they came into contact with. So while driving into the office, I missed those family road trips every year and if I am blessed enough to have a SUV full of Dora the Explorers one day, I will make sure to do the same for them. So my advice for you, treat yourself my friends and expand your bubble, take a road trip this weekend, or drive somewhere you never been, or a road you never gone down before, you never know where you might end up and what adventures you may have. :)
xoxo,
Hildda
