Only the dead will wait

"As the terrified family rushed down the driveway squealing the wheels of the car on the old mossy bricks, the young girl turned and looked back at the old mansion her mother had inherited from a distant cousin, in horror she could not scream her terror as she saw the dark ghostly figure of the dead woman, the former lady of the manor, their eyes locking as the ghost raised her arm holding a lantern of ancient creation, a growing bright red light coming forth from the flame within, the young girl could barely let out from her lips "Faster Mom!, FASTER!". the car speeding down the long driveway toward the entrance as the heavy iron gates began to slowly close before them!"
