With the weather causing problems on other lines,the Scotsman tour was re-routed over Shap.There was no point setting off until we could confirm what was happening so we only had a few minutes to spare and no time to walk into the preferred option at Shap Summit.Here,the light was just round but there was a very strong wind with some east in it.I took a chance the exhaust might lift but with the diesel shoving hard that didn't happen.Oh well,the joys of steam photography - much easier for the freight shot alongside !
