Rennlei W. says: Formal: In this photo, I see a building thats painted colorfully with the sunlight shining on most of it, contrasted with the streets, sidewalks and houses casted in shadows. The middle of the picture is covered by three ropes and another that lies across all three, connected by metal. Its a contrast of vibrancy to shade and is very linear regarding intersecting lines and landscaping. Aesthetic: I feel it means the crossover from dusk to dawn due to the differing spectrum of colors that are shown sharply. It comes from darkness to lightness and that usually resembles the crossing over from another day, so it can represent a new start after looking back at what happened in the past.

Rennlei W. says: Formal: In this picture we can see a sort of winding-contraption within what I can assume either a plastic or glass bottle/exterior due to the transparency. There is metal included in the picture and a frosted type of plastic covering most of the metal. The sunlight is reflecting off the exterior near the middle and the perspective is up-close to the photographer. Aesthetic: Because I do not know what I am looking at, I feel I can infer this image represents the unknown bottled up in the transparent shell, where people can look in but not know what the core is. This is because I'm observing a mysterious item and it brings curiosity and wonder, which can symbolize what the true me is within.

Rennlei W. says: Formal: This photo features bleachers partially shaded in the front with the tallest ones most enlightened by the sun, and a strong gradient fade of blue in the sky with the landscape of grass contrasting. It's taken on an angle to add a sort of dynamic to the posture, and the attention appears to be the stilts of the seating. Aesthetic: I suppose this picture can infer that our lives are balanced on stilts with opportunities weighing over our heads and become greater as we progress through; higher and higher in our successes. This is because metaphors regarding starting from the bottom and reaching the top can be symbolized with the first row of bleachers being the lowest and rising to the highest point of overseeing everything.

Rennlei W. says: Formal: The picture here shows us a couple of wildflowers of violet color both in the foreground and background, partially shaded in the foreground but lightened up in the distance. The trees in the background contrast the dark cool colors with yellows and bright greens, conflicting with the bright blue sky too. Aesthetic: I like to think this means that life can be cast in shadows at the beginning, but you have to look into the future for hope and persevere from the negativities. This is because some of the flowers are cast in the shade and denied the nutritional additives the sun's rays can give, while the others in the distance are able to receive and flourish.
