A Plockton Bay at sunset in summer, a peaceful, calm mooring for the boating fraternity, Wester Ross, Scotland.

Poem.

Amazing at sunrise.

Golden at sunset.

Plockton Bay, secluded by encircling hills

and a sea-wall headland

is a sheltered sanctuary,

a calm enclave,

a peaceful peninsula.

As if designed for mooring yachts

from the Atlantic swell,

this hidden jewel abounds in

boat-trips, wildlife, sunken ships,

mountainous vistas and “maerl” coral beaches.

Views from the shore, the sea, the hills

and the village are varied and mercurial.

Unpretentious, largely uncommercialised

this village requires no more than being there.

Being there is enough to satisfy the soul………..

abundantly!
