The Pink Thatched Cottages by St. Mary's Church in the splendid village of Cavendish, Suffolk, England.
Commentary.
Cavendish is a very dignified and impressive village
in the Stour Valley of Suffolk.
Although the name may originate in Saxon times,
coincidentally, Sir John Cavendish, an ancestor of
the Dukes of Devonshire, lived in the village in the 16th. Century.
St. Mary’s Church is adjacent to the famous Pink Thatched Cottages
and the spacious Village Green.
Two fetes take place on the Green every year
as well as a Fireworks Display in November.
The residences give an impression of relative wealth
and high maintenance.
The village has three fine pubs,
The Five Bells, The George and The Bull.
