A sunset looking west from Laggan Bay between two headlands, Isle of Ulva, left, and Isle of Mull on the right. Golden sunset and Cumulus clouds are reflected in a quicksilver sea, Isle of Mull, Inner Hebrides, Scotland.

Poem.

Two headlands separated by the Atlantic horizon.

Last land for three thousand miles.

This harbour scene is accentuated by the evening sun breaking through and under the rising, grey, ragged cumulus clouds.

Pink sea thrift on the shore, edges a stony, rocky beach.

Broken grey reflections of rising clouds bear testimony to the heat of the day and merge into a golden beam of evening sunset.

The sharp, acute, indigo headlands complete the scene.

This warm, balmy summer’s evening encapsulates the wonders of the Isle of Mull –

a beautiful, unspoilt, nature-lover’s paradise.
