The beauty of Scotland. A frozen Wester Ross loch takes colour from a rising sun in December.

Poem.

Solid, gleaming ice.

Side to side, end to end.

Globules of frozen snow

cling to the old stone wall.

Iced branches straighten

like petrified fingers,

in the winter chill.

Blue and white hills

mark light and shade.

Still.

Silent.

In suspended animation,

but stunningly beautiful.

Each season has its

colour-profile trademark.

Winter’s is unique and breath-taking!
