The extraordinary landscape of "The Quiraing," in the Trotternish Peninsula of the Isle of Skye.

Poem.

Gouged.

Chiselled.

Fallen slabs of earth.

Folds of rock, soil and green mantle,

lie prostrate,

like a pile of giant dominoes.

Cliffs.

Edges.

Precipices.

Rock-faces and

spires of stone,

proliferate this dream landscape,

gravity-driven, and ancient.

As Geomorphologists do,

I have seen many, many landscapes.

This one is unique.

It is mystical

and almost……

beyond belief!
