North-Eastern sunrise catches the clouds pink above the shady blues of Loch Lomond, Ben Lomond and mountains to the north, Argyll, Scotland.
Poem.
The bonnie, bonnie banks.
“Bonnie,” has never really worked for me.
Like a word you might associate with a well-groomed miniature dog!
Loch Lomond is more than just bonnie.
It is lush, verdant, profuse with woodland and shrub.
It is grand, scenic, picturesque and beautiful.
Ben Lomond looms over the northern half of this island-scattered loch.
It is commanding, regal, proud and majestic.
Here at sunrise, the narrower northern channel
of this lake tunnels through the southern-most “Munros” of the Grampians.
Multi-layers of indigo, navy and grey slopes unfold endlessly, layer upon layer, into the distance.
The rising sun splashes cloud and reflection with a blush-pink hue that complements the shadowy blue slopes, perfectly.
Tantalising, exquisite, mercurial, and, if you insist,
very bonnie!!!
