Clouds split like the Biblical Red Sea.
Radiant shafts of light beam down to the hills, lakes, dales and becks as if a monstrous “Close Encounter” alien spacecraft is about to land.
Illuminated yet hazy in the moody skies is Swinside Hill(244m.).
Beyond, are the peaks of the Derwent Fells.
A well-worn, snake-like path wends its way from Keswick to Barrow Hill(455m.), with Causey Pike above.
A white line, right of centre, the main, cross-country, A.66,
divides the scene as Crags Hill remains aloof in the clouds.
Lakeland in stormy climes is still captivating and a work of beauty.
