“Bag End” - exterior (1)
I took my time with this MOC, 2 years and 4 months! I loaded it with details, so I uploaded a lot more pictures than usual to try to do it justice.
Excellent versions of Bag End/Hobbiton have already been made by Northern LEGO, Patrick B., Cole Blood and Jake Hansen, and others (give them a look!), so I tried to bring something new to the table with my version. My biggest focus was probably color - I tried to mimic the look of sunlight shining through tree branches. I used 6 shades of green to do this. (Notice how the imaginary sun is hitting one facade of the moc, and creates shadows on the opposite side with dark green.)
