mar 22 wrap around dress 1a Japanese Simple Modern Sewing

Dress 1a modified, 'cause it's way too hot in Tx for sleeves, yo!

The yarn dyed linen is handkerchief weight and luscious- so soft after washing a couple times. The fabric resembles a lightweight denim chambray in case you can't tell in the photo. Sorry for the bright light.

There are a few things I would change before making this again:

- shorten the skirt to hit just above knee

- fix the width of the skirt, maybe go down a size?, so I won't have to gather so much since this added a lot of visual weight to my waist. This is a size medium and I'm around a 12 right now in US size. There is a lot of ease built in!

- Use twill tape or a thin ribbon for the interior ties since it shows a little when it's tied closely around your waist.

Such an incredibly comfortable dress and very forgiving if you gain/lose weight.
