nov 2 simplicity 1377 pants

Sewing pants is an area that I'm a complete novice. But I've been wanting to add some me-made pants to the wardrobe- Simplicity 1377 seemed like it would fit the bill: pull up, so no zipper to worry about and pockets.

Corduroy is probably not the best choice for a wearable muslin, but I was taking to long to decide while fondling my stash and just grabbed it so I could get them made.

Fit notes: these are a 16 with an 18 waist- I have to confess, usually I round up since I'm convinced bottoms won't fit around the waist. Note to self, sew a straight 16 next time. Especially since the double line of elastic in the waist leaves much room for fitting.

The slant pockets are lovely, who doesn't love pockets?! I did take in the crotch in the front about 1/2" due to gaping/sagging.

It's not perfect, not sure how I feel about the cropped length. Almost makes me think of high waters due to my height. They're super comfy and will get worn, the color fits well in my current wardrobe.
