IHB 4018 // IAIS 512 @ Alsip, IL
A rare time of me being “tardy to the party” as I ventured out for my regular Harbor nonsense, I found this fella heading over Western Avenue just outside of Blue Island Yard. I rolled up to the north end of BI JCT with about seconds to spare and after noticing who was at the throttle, (an engineer who notoriously runs slow) I knew I could beat him to this very spot of the Pulaski Road bridge.
With that said, train BP2 beings their sunset trip west to Union Pacific’s Proviso Yard with the GP40-2/SD38-2 combo for power, IHB 4018 and IHB 3861. They’re seen here running at a brisk 15MPH passing through Alsip, IL at CP 173 on the IHB West Line, thankfully finding a pocket of light before the Pulaski Road bridge, while passing Iowa Interstate’s own XBISW20 transfer from the Harbor that’s parked on Main 3 with IAIS 512 (ES44AC).
