CN 5262 @ 18th Street - Chicago, IL

Running exactly 10 hours late, Amtrak train #58, The City of New Orleans, is just outside their final destination of Chicago Union Station with some much needed help from CN after their long distance Siemens Charger died near Fulton, KY, which than prompted a new leader which just so happened to be CN 5262, a SD40-2W. Seen here turning the corner south at 18th street in Chinatowns “Ping Tom Park” as the engineer flips on the ditch lights and puts on a show for us fans on the 18th street bridge. Taken: 5-9-23

The train would shove off the GM&O wye via 21st street and head into Chicago Union Station, giving us the opportunity to walk down to other end of the bridge for a 2nd photo. All Amtrak trains that take the CN, shove via 21st street due to the Saint Charles Air Line being out of service for almost 4 years now.
