The Green Fuse
The force that through the green fuse drives the flower
Drives my green age; that blasts the roots of trees
Is my destroyer.
And I am dumb to tell the crooked rose
My youth is bent by the same wintry fever.
~~ Dylan Thomas

To my Welsh friends: I bear no animus toward your favoured son. Heck, I share the same surname as him and, in fact, my ancestor emigrated to Canada from Wales in 1850. :-)
