Capo Sandalo, located on the westernmost tip of the island, is an extraordinary cliff overlooking the sea.
Here is the homonymous lighthouse, built in 1864, made of chiselled stone blocks and consisting of a cylindrical tower that supports a rotating lens of 700 mm focal length.
The Lighthouse emits a group of four white flashes every 20 seconds, has a light range of 34 miles and a geographical range of 24 miles.
Visible from the west coast of the island of Sant'Antioco, it is the lighthouse located to the west of Italy.
Since 1984 it is also a radio beacon and has 4 apartments for fans. The summit of the Lighthouse offers a breathtaking view and can be reached along 124 spiral steps.

Capo Sandalo, situato sulla punta più occidentale dell’Isola, è una straordinaria scogliera a strapiombo sul mare.
Qui si trova l’omonimo Faro, costruito nel 1864, realizzato con conci di pietra lavorata a scalpello e costituito da una torre cilindrica che sostiene una ottica rotante di 700 mm di distanza focale.
Il Faro emette un gruppo di quattro lampi bianchi ogni 20 secondi, ha portata luminosa di 34 miglia e una portata geografica di 24 miglia.
Visibile dalla costa Ovest dell’Isola di Sant’Antioco, si tratta del faro situato più a occidente d'Italia.
Dal 1984 è anche radiofaro ed è dotato di 4 appartamenti per i fanalisti. La vetta del Faro offre un panorama mozzafiato ed è raggiungibile percorrendo ben 124 scalini a chiocciola.
