Parigi 15/04/2014: La facciata della Gare de l' Est
The Gare de l'Est is located in the X-arrondissement, a short walk from Gare du Nord and not far from St. Martin's Canal. Its beautiful façade consists of glass windows and two side wings, stands at the bottom of Strasbourg Boulevard and is what remains of the ancient 19th-century building. In fact, the station was inaugurated in 1850 and has been expanded several times since the end of that century and the Second World War, becoming the largest of the Parisian stations by surface. On the facade, there are two statues representing the cities of Verdun and Strasbourg, the most important destinations of the trains leaving from the station, eastwards. An important renovation work of the station took place in 2006 at the entrance In service of TGV (high speed train)
From Gare de l'Est, trains run to East of France, Luxembourg, Germany and Switzerland. From here, too, begins the journey of the Oriente Express, whose first departure to Constantinople took place on October 4, 1883.

La Gare de l’Est si trova nel X arrondissement, a pochi passi dalla Gare du Nord e non lontano dal Canal St. Martin. La sua bella facciata composta da vetrate e due ali laterali, si erge al fondo del boulevard de Strasbourg ed è ciò che resta dell’antico edificio del XIX secolo. La stazione, infatti, viene inaugurata nel 1850 ed è più volte ampliata tra la fine di quel secolo e la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, diventando, per superficie, la più grande tra le stazioni parigine. Sulla facciata, si trovano due statue che rappresentano le città di Verdun e di Strasburgo, le destinazioni più importanti dei treni che partivano dalla stazione, diretti verso est.. Un importante lavoro di ristrutturazione della stazione è avvenuto nel 2006, in occasione dell’entrata in servizio del TGV (treno ad alta velocità)
Dalla Gare de l’Est, partono i treni a destinazione dell’est della Francia, del Lussemburgo, della Germania e della Svizzera. Da qui, inoltre, ha inizio il viaggio anche dell’Orient Express, la cui prima partenza verso Costantinopoli ebbe luogo il 4 ottobre del 1883.
